Friday 8th Sept saw Natasha Maddock start her Coniston solo swim. The temperature was nice and the weather fair, a perfect day. Escorted by Dave Q, Natasha set off from the jetty in fine spirits.

Natasha was swimming fine, but a couple of hours in and she started to struggle with cramping in her calves. Trying the usual techniques to keep it at bay Natasha dug deep, but 3 hours in and she was unable to continue, being totally incapable of continuing her swim.

Natasha had done the usual remedies, ensuring hydration, salt etc, but nothing eased or helped her when swimming.  I suggested the idea it could potentially be physical and Natasha went to see a physio. Turns out she is hyper mobile and she is now on a programme to help her cramping. We cant wait for her return.
