The English Channel

The English Channel (21+miles)

Have you ever dreamed about attempting to swim the famous English Channel and do something life-changingly brilliant?  If the answer is 'yes' then your journey starts here!

Ever since Captain Matthew Webb became the first person to swam the 21+ miles of the English Channel in 1875 it has held a powerful attraction to open water swimmers around the World. Its many challenges include the distance, navigating busy shipping channels, swells, complex tides and the cold salt water to name a few (!).

All of  these challenges will need to be overcome for you to join an elite group of marathon swimmers. After many years of successful crossing and hard-won experience we can support you to overcome these challenges.

BTW, less people have swum the English Channel than have summitted Mount Everest!

Swim attempts themselves are strictly controlled by official observers with a myriad of rules which include the wearing of a swim cap, goggles, costume/trunks. Relay teams can be comprised of 2-6 swimmers with each person swimming an hour at a time until France is reached (or not).

Although you don't need to be the strongest or fastest swimmer ever you'll need guts, determination and a willingness to continually improve every aspect of your swimming over a long period of time to give you the best chance of getting across. A great support crew, excellent planning, good weather and luck with the tides help too!

You Train. We take the Strain

To get across you'll need an experienced team who deals with all the essential 'back of house' planning needed so you can fully focus on your training. Whether you're considering attempting the full 21+miles solo or part of a team we can take the stress off to help you be successful.

Qswim Adventure, as one of most experienced and successful guide organisations in the UK, has successfully guided many solo swimmers and relay teams to complete this iconic challenge. If we are not required on your boat, we train and empower you and your team /crew to be ready for the task ahead. We provide training packages for these swims (individualised to your specific need) and can provide comprehensive packages which could include:-  :-
