From LLyn Padarn to a 2 Way Ullswater
From LLyn Padarn to a 2 Way Ullswater

We kicked off the season with a Birthday treat and chose to guide each other down LLyn Padarn. A small but beautiful stretch of water with a rather refreshing coolness about it. It was a beautiful day and great for me to upskill by boat skills.
Next on our Starter list was Coniston and it was Daves turn to set off down the Lake. This time he had the wind in his face making this a frustrating swim for Super Fast Dave who in his racing days could knock a 2 way out in most of ours 1 way time. The temperature was around 15 degrees so not too much of an issue. After 1 feed and 2 hours 50minutes the day out was over and DQ completed.
In preparation for her English Channel Solo attempt in August this year, Sue Haines set off on her 2 Way Ullswater with husband on feed duties and Dave to guide and support. Sue had the most glorious of days with a Lake that offered nothing challenging in terms on its conditions. It was still and it was warm. Sue remained consistently strong throughout and knocked her 2 way out in 7 hours and 4 minutes. A fantastic time and a great way to smooth out the feeding plan and keep those lats and shoulders conditioned.
