Jon Pittey's Windermere Solo Swim Adventure

Friday 19th July Jon Pittey set off on his longest swim to date. 1 Way Windermere. Originally this challenge would be in skins but used to the comfort of neoprene Jon decided to dress up for the occasion. Waved off by his biggest supporters, Mum Dad and Harry, Jon set off from Fell Foot Jetty and started his 10.5 mile adventure.

The weather was dry to start and a gentle breeze was giving Jon a little assistance down the Lake. He flew passed his support team and was able to say hi at Storrs Hall. Making the halfway point in a fabulous 2 hours and 45 minutes. Jon's feeds were simple and consisted of gels and water.

The second half of the swim was a different story to the first as the heavens opened. Thomas and Dave on the support boat were as wet as Jon as the showers were on and off. Jon continued to swim strong and was even tempered throughout showing no signs of negativity. Raising money for his charity St James Place Charity his focus never wavered.

6 hours and 28 minutes from starting and his Windermere Solo was complete. Well Done JP
