Training swims are a go go go !!!

June was a busy couple of weeks of milestone training swims, with several swimmers setting themselves targets in preparation for their English Channel swims later in the season.
On Monday 26th June, Ashley Seymour returned to Windermere with a target of 10 hours of swimming. With her mum on board to learn the feeding regime and discuss all things Channel crewing, it was an extremely valuable swim. They finalized the feed plan and learned that when the going gets tough, the swim continues. It was a fantastic performance with only a few moans and groans here and there.
Tuesday 27th saw Graham Hadfield take on a 2-way Ullswater. Again, this was his final major milestone before his English Channel tide window opens. With just a couple of weeks to go, these swims were perfectly timed to allow for the rest and recovery needed to be on top form for when the call comes.
7 hours and 15 minutes later, Graham had completed his 22km swim. With chop, side winds, and a temperature of 17 degrees, this was a fabulous swim to get under his trunks.
