New to open water swimming and especially a marathon distance, Katy Morris approached Uswim Adventure with a dream of swimming the English Channel. The first challenge was losing the wetsuit and acclimitising in skins, so seemed rude not to suggest a Windermere Solo to test the water.
On 27th September Katy set off from Fell Foot and made her way without any drama to Ambleside. A fabulous swim time of 5 hours and 51 minutes. More to come from this young lady. Excited to follow.
Katy completed this swim with great focus. Coming from a pool background she has had to build up her distance quickly and also experiment with feeding to fuel her swims. With an English Channel Relay under her belt we knew she would take to this swim like a duck to water.
