Monday 16th May saw the return of English Channel Solo swimmer Gareth Rees. Not new to endurance events, however slightly under prepared for a Windermere solo today. However with the correct mindset the job was always going to get done.
It was an overcast day, with downpours at times but not so much as a breeze. Water temperature at its lowest 13.4 degrees and at its highest 13.9 degrees, starting from Fell Foot.
Feeding hourly for 4 and changing to 45 minutes when the swim was almost done, Gareth maintained his pace and stroke count throughout.
6 hours and 21 mins, Gareth had another Windermere under his belt. Ready to continue his build up to a double and a Loch Awe Solo later in the year.
