Windermere Glory

Windermere Glory

August 6, 2020

On Thursday 6th August, this Hoyland duo set off on their swim adventure together: a 2-way Windermere. Erin opted to go first, donning a wetsuit, while her Channel-swimmer dad preferred to swim in skins. It was another lovely day on the lake with no rain or problematic wind.

The duo powered down the lake and hit Fell Foot in a strong time of 4 hours and 45 minutes—a super speedy pace!

They continued to push hard, which was to be expected given that both swimmers possess a certain streak of competitiveness. The last couple of hours were the hardest as fatigue set in, but they didn't slow much considering they completed their 21 miles in a "super-dooper" time of 9 hours and 38 minutes. Fantastic!

They were cheered in by their family at the finish—simply the best way to end the day.
