Ben Taylor set off from Fell Foot, focused, determined and with a big smile on his face as every secondary wave from the passing vessels knocked him out of rhythm.
He had recently completed his 6 Hour English Channel Qualifier with Uswim at Dock 9 and seized an opportunity to have a training day in Windermere. The water temperature settled at around 14.5 degrees and the sun shone all day.
His feeds were fast and predominantly liquid, throwing in a mini battenburg for good measure towards the end. 5 hours and 15 minutes he walked out at the other end, feeling ready to do another length. Good luck with your Channel Solo.
